Happy 2019!

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year! We are getting ready for an exciting 2019 filled with conventions, tournaments, comic cons, community events and more! Check out our event calendar: https://www.meethawaii.com/convention-center/events-calendar/

We are looking forward to a strong 2019 with a number of Citywide events, Sports tournaments, banquet functions and a variety of popular repeat events lined up for the year.

We kicked off January with the IAFOR International Conference on Education 2019 (IICE Hawaii 2019) who are returning for their 4th consecutive meeting here at HCC. IICEHawaii brings together delegates from many different national, cultural and linguistic backgrounds to Honolulu, Hawaii, to present new research and exchange ideas from both the private and public sectors.

Soon after it was time to transform our Exhibit Hall 1 into an elegant banquet hall for the 2019 Sony Open Gala Dinner. The menu showcased wonderful dishes from an impressive roster of up and coming female celebrity chefs including Chef Lee Anne Wong from Koko Head Cafe. It was indeed a night to remember!

Lastly among our notable January events, we welcomed our first sporting tournament of the year. The AAU Transpacific Championship welcomed an estimated 2000 attendees, athletes and their families last January 18 – 21, 2019. This international, high-level volleyball competition and college showcase featured youth teams from Hawaii, the mainland USA, China, Japan, Mexico, American Samoa and Thailand.

Check out some of our photos below for highlights of some of our notable group and to find out more on upcoming events next month.

Our Kamehameha Exhibit Hall 1 was once again transformed for the annual Sony Open Gala Dinner.

It was an honor to welcome back Kashiwabara Corporation who were in Hawaii for their 70th Anniversary Celebration. Approximately 1000 guests attended the award ceremony held at our Kalakaua Ballroom ABC.
