Matters of the Heart

The month of February saw another series of diverse events ranging from our first Citywide meeting for 2019 to a variety of sporting events such as volleyball, basketball and Futsal (indoor soccer).

It was an honor to welcome back the American Heart Association’s 2019 International Stroke Conference from February 6 – 8.  The International Stroke Conference is the world’s premier meeting dedicated to the science and treatment of cerebrovascular disease. The conference included a multi-faceted lineup of events, including a pre-conference nursing symposium, clinical sessions, exhibitors, and more than 1,500 presentations from world-renowned researchers and industry professionals spanning 21 categories that emphasize basic, clinical and translational sciences. HCC first hosted the International Stroke Conference in 2013, and it was great to welcome this world-class meeting back to Hawai‘i,

Soon after, we got people’s hearts racing again with the AAU Honolulu Grand Prix (volleyball) and Jam on It Tournament (basketball) in our Exhibit Halls 2 & 3 for four days of sporting action!

We then had three simultaneous events in our Exhibit Halls during the last weekend of February. Featuring a cheerleading event in Exhibit Hall 1 (Athletic Championships), the Amazing Comic Con Aloha in Exhibit Hall 2 and the Hawaii Futsal Cup International Cup in Exhibit Hall 3.

Check out some of our photos below for highlights of some of our notable group and to find out more on upcoming events next month.

HCC welcomed once again our Customer Advisory Board (CAB) for our annual Spring Meeting last February 20 – 22. The CAB is designed as a strategic think tank and client forum in which senior association executives and meeting professionals share their experiences and perspectives to help the Hawai’i Convention Center better serve the needs of key citywide meeting and convention planners, attendees and stakeholders.
