Honolulu Hosts Sweet Adelines International’s 67th Convention and Competition

More than 5,000 a cappella vocalists from around the world will converge in Honolulu from Nov. 5-9, 2013 for the 67th annual Sweet Adelines International convention and competition at the Hawai`i Convention Center.  Sweet Adelines International members are women who excel in singing the distinctive musical art form of four-part harmony, barbershop style.

More than 50 quartets and 40 choruses are preparing to heat up the stage for five days of awe-inspiring, spine-tingling performances and competitions.  From dawn to dusk each day will be bursting at the seams with the best in barbershop harmony.

Sweet Adelines International is a musical force in the United States and around the world.  This nonprofit music education organization is one of the world’s largest singing organizations for women encompassing more than 23,000 members, 1,000 registered quartets and 550 choruses in most of the fifty United States, Africa, Australia, Canada, England, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, The Netherlands, and Wales.
