More than 5,000 a cappella vocalists from around the world have convened at the Hawai`i Convention Center for the 67th annual Sweet Adelines International Convention & Competition.  Members are women who are committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony.

Tuesday, Nov. 5:  Small and mid-size choruses will compete in the Harmony Classic Contest beginning at 6:00pm.

Wednesday, Nov. 6:  Quartet competition opens at 10:00am.

Thursday, Nov. 7:  Chorus semifinal competition opens at 10:45am.

Friday, Nov. 8:  The top 10 quartets from Wednesday return for the finals, beginning at noon.

Saturday, Nov. 9:  The top 10 choruses from Thursday return for the finals, beginning at noon.

2013 International Champion Chorus, North Metro, will hand over the title to the 2014 champion during the Honolulu convention.

Sweet Adelines International is an organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance.  More than 5,000 a cappella vocalists will be in Honolulu Nov. 5-9 to sing for you at the Hawai`i Convention Center!

Neyla Pekarek, cellist/vocalist for the Grammy-nominated band The Lumineers, started out in a winning Sweet Adelines International quartet!  Vogue quartet was the 2010 Rising Star International Champion.  See their winning performance and come to the LIVE performances to see the next big stars!

Ms. Pekarek will be in attendance the entire week doing public performances with top quartets, visiting a Honolulu high school, meeting and greeting, and participating as a celebrity judge.

More than 5,000 a cappella vocalists from around the world will converge in Honolulu from Nov. 5-9, 2013 for the 67th annual Sweet Adelines International convention and competition at the Hawai`i Convention Center.  Sweet Adelines International members are women who excel in singing the distinctive musical art form of four-part harmony, barbershop style.

More than 50 quartets and 40 choruses are preparing to heat up the stage for five days of awe-inspiring, spine-tingling performances and competitions.  From dawn to dusk each day will be bursting at the seams with the best in barbershop harmony.

Sweet Adelines International is a musical force in the United States and around the world.  This nonprofit music education organization is one of the world’s largest singing organizations for women encompassing more than 23,000 members, 1,000 registered quartets and 550 choruses in most of the fifty United States, Africa, Australia, Canada, England, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, Scotland, Sweden, The Netherlands, and Wales.
